Ann made it through surgery today without complications but unfortunately early pathology reports indicate that the cancer has moved into the sentinel lymph nodes already. Ann is spending the night at Evanston Hospital and expected to come home tomorrow, Saturday (1/18/03)

We have a consultation with our surgeon, Dr. David P. Winchester, scheduled for Saturday (1/18/03) morning and will learn more about her diagnosis and prognosis then. I don’t expect any final conclusions or recommendations before Tuesday or perhaps Wednesday when the full pathology reports are available for the breast tissue and lymph nodes that were removed today.

We are extremely disappointed that the lymph nodes weren’t clean as was expected and we are anxiously awaiting the pathology reports.

We will let you know when more definitive information is available, probably not until after the pathology reports are out.

Love,

Ann and Nello
