Track Website Updates

Several RSS feeds are available to help you track updates to this website. These feeds are listed to the right.

The remainder of this page explains how to use these feeds.

What is RSS?

RSS is an XML-based format for distributing and gathering content from sources across the world-wide web, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs.

RSS technology allows you to identify the content that interests you most and have it delivered directly. You can think of a web site’s RSS feed as a text broadcast of the site’s content. You get the latest summaries because periodically your RSS reader automatically retrieves the most recent RSS feed.

Typical applications for consuming or using RSS include:

  • Using a program known as a News Aggregator to collect, update and display RSS feeds
  • Incorporating RSS feeds into weblogs

A syndicated news aggregator (also called an RSS Reader) will download and display RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial RSS Readers are available for download.

What RSS Readers Are Available?

There are three kinds of (free and for-fee) RSS Readers:

  1. Stand-alone applications that run on your computer;
  2. Web services that you access online; and
  3. RSS-enabled web browsers. (The latest versions of Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer have RSS subscription options already integrated.)

Before using the RSS Feeds on this site, you will either need to download and install an application, create an account on a web service, or install an RSS-ready browser on your computer. Most of the applications are free and easy to download and install.
